Post-meeting cruise

The research vessel “New Ocean Researcher 2” (811t, 45 m length) managed by the National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung (45 min drive from the meeting venue) has been assigned for meeting participants to experience a 2-days deep-sea cruise to collect crustaceans at 200-1000 m deep off north-eastern Taiwan. Collecting gears used are 2.5m French beam trawl and 1.6 m diameter ORI plankton net.
Only meeting participants (i.e. registered with necessary payment) are considered for joining the post-meeting deep-sea cruise.
Two legs will be arranged (1st-2nd June and 3rd-4th June) and each leg allows 7 participants to join onboard.
Each leg started at 10:00 am and ended at 5:00 pm the next day.
The cost for joining the cruise, 1000 NTD, is for the transportation between the meeting venue and Keelung. Food and accommodation onboard are free.
Participants onboard “New Ocean Researcher 2” will need to sign a declaration of suitable health for being onboard, and will be covered by a very limited amount of insurance. Participants wanted to have additional insurance will need to be purchased by themselves before the cruises.
